Hanover, 21 March 2024: High interest rates, climate change, sustainability, ESG, digitalization, investments, urban development, skills shortages - the real estate and construction industry has no shortage of topics that need to be discussed at the moment. In view of the pressing challenges currently facing the industry, a multi-faceted conference provides real added value and the necessary orientation. The Real Estate Arena is announcing a strong program for the real estate and construction industry at its third edition on 5 and 6 June. The approximately 6,500 visitors and around 350 exhibiting companies can expect a top-class conference on three different stages.

The extended, two-day conference program will be presented on three stages. "We spent a long time fine-tuning the program and put a lot of heart and soul into selecting the speakers," says project manager Hartwig von Saß, adding "The REA Conference 2024 addresses the key issues of the real estate world and offers a unique platform for discussions and knowledge sharing." It is also unique because half of the participants on the stages are women. The Real Estate Arena was the first trade fair in Germany to sign a voluntary commitment with the Women in Leadership Association, committing to a 50% share of women at the conference.

Always looking ahead, the programme focuses on topics that are crucial for the future of the industry, such as dealing with climate change and ESG regulations, challenges in new residential construction, crisis management, the need for digitalization, the importance of innovation and the power of inspiration.

Highlights of the conference include the appearance of author Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen, who will contribute his perspective on climate and health, and the keynote speech by the President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Prof. Dr. Moritz Schularick. In his presentation, the internationally renowned economist will address the economic situation and the importance of the German real estate industry. Visitors can expect further important contributions from Henrike Waldburg, Managing Director of Union Invest, and Aygül Özkan, Managing Director of the German Property Federation (ZIA), who will discuss sustainable investment strategies in times of challenge.

On the second day, sustainability pioneer Prof. Michael Braungart will take center stage together with Sebastian Scheels from Ratisbona to shed light on innovative approaches with a view to the circular economy in the real estate sector. The program will be complemented by numerous discussions on ESG, transformation, diversity and innovative and forward-looking projects.

With this broad range of topics and top-class speakers, the Real Estate Arena 2024 aims to act as a platform for the future and opportunities for transformation in the real estate and construction industry and inspire its visitors with knowledge and perspectives from within and outside the industry to find new solutions to current challenges.
